New Voices
a young adult speaker series
winter/spring 2007

In celebration of our 50th anniversary, Beacon Hill Friends House in Boston offers this new speaker series. Guided by the theme: Call to Ministry: an opportunity for today's young adult Friends to share where they are being called, a group of young adult Friends from New England have chosen speakers from applications from more than a dozen young adults from around the country and around the world. They represent both the diversity of current Quakerdom and the intense vitality possible in active Quaker spiritual lives.

Taken singly, each of these Friends represents one among the many strands of Quakerism today. Together, we hope they present one of the possible convergences of these strands. You'll want to know more about each of them, so see About our New Voices Speakers.

Beacon Hill Friends House is grateful to Obadiah Brown's Benevolent Fund, to Salem Quarterly Meeting and to individuals whose financial support have helped make this program possible. For information on how you can help, contact the directors.

Let all nations hear the word by sound or writing. Spare no place, spare not tongue nor pen; but be obedient to the Lord God and go through the work and be valiant for the Truth upon earth; tread and trample all that is contrary under....Be patterns, be examples in all countries, places, islands, nations, wherever you come; that your carriage and life may preach among all sorts of people, and to them. Then you will come to walk cheerfully over the world, answering that of God in every one.
--George Fox, 1656, age 32
