Residency Manager
Beacon Hill Friends House, a Quaker Center and cooperative residential
community in Boston, is looking for a Residency Manager to join our
staff in June/July 2008.
The Residency Manager will be responsible for the management of the
20-person residential community, and management of guest rooms.
S/he will also have responsibility for the smooth operations of the
office. Responsibilities are shared with the Kitchen Manager and
Director of the House.
Experiences desirable for an applicant include experience living in
community, experience with the Society of Friends, managing an office,
and caring for old buildings. Desirable qualities include cooperation,
flexibility, communication skills, and a friendly, welcoming
demeanor.
This will be a ¾ time position, working 30 hours a
week. The staff member will live on-site, participating in
the life of the community. Compensation includes full room and
board, salary and health insurance.
Beacon Hill Friends House is a Quaker center in a historic building
in downtown Boston. Our residential program is a
multigenerational, cooperative community based in Quaker practice and
principles. Our other activities include offering hospitality
through overnight guest rooms and public meeting spaces for Quakers and
others; holding Quaker-related events and publishing Quaker pamphlets.
